Jamie-Lea Biscoe was found by her father with serious traumatic neck injuries at the property in the village of Leaden Roding, Essex, on the evening of April 10, an inquest heard
A 19 year old woman who died following a dog attack at her residence sustained serious traumatic injuries to her neck, an inquest has heard.
Jamie-Lea Biscoe was discovered by her father within an upstairs bedroom at the property in the village of Leaden Roding, Essex, court co-ordinator Matthew Austin confirmed.
Mr Austin stated she was found with “serious traumatic injuries to her neck” during the evening of 10 April.
He explained it was suspected these had been “caused by one of the family’s dogs”.
A forensic post-mortem examination determined her cause of death as “neck injuries pending investigation of histology and toxicology”.
Essex senior coroner Lincoln Brookes revealed he had received written correspondence from Essex Police requesting suspension of coronial proceedings while a criminal investigation continues.
Having suspended proceedings, he stated: “I do offer my deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Jamie-Lea Biscoe on what can only be described as a tragic loss of life.”
Essex Police previously confirmed officers attended a property on Long Hide in Leaden Roding at 10.45pm on 10 April.
Ms Biscoe was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 37 year old man from Dunmow, arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing injury resulting in death, has been bailed until July while inquiries continue, the force subsequently confirmed.
The animal, which was a family pet and thought to be a lurcher cross, was taken away and tests are currently being conducted to formally determine the precise breed, police confirmed.
