Lidl’s middle aisle, similarly to Aldi’s Specialbuy section, is an ever-changing aisle in the centre of its supermarkets, stocked with a surprise selection of items, ranging from power tools and air fryers to gardening supplies and homeware.
Stock in the middle of the store generally changes every Thursday and Sunday, with shoppers seeing a host of new items introduced each week. This week Lidl is catering to water sport lovers with a host of equipment and accessories from beach towels to inflatable paddleboards.
There will also be plants, outdoor toys, gardening items, fans and air conditioning units.
Plants
As usual Lidl will be selling an array of indoor and out plants. From Thursday (May 21) shoppers will find Alstromeria (£9.99), French Lavender (£5.99) and English Lavender (£3.49). For £7.99 shoppers can find Lidl’s Large Hanging Planters.
There will also be Acer (£9.99) and Fig Trees (£19.99), Clematis and Climber plants (£4.99), Kalachoes (£1.99, Confetti Garden Plants (£2.99) and British Bedding Plants (£1.99).
For indoor plants Lidl will be selling a ‘Monkey Leaf’ Monstera for £4.99.
Garden
Thursday will also see new garden and summer cooking items arrive in the Middle Aisle including a Ninja CREAMi Ice Cream and Frozen Dessert Maker (£159.99) and a Grillmeister Mini Ceremic Kamado BBQ (£79.99). There will also be the Grillmeiser Gas Pizza Oven (£69.99), Cast Iron Bread Pan (£19.99), Cast Iron Wok (£19.99), Cast Iron Dutch Oven (£19.99), Cast Iron Frying Pan (£14.99) and Cast Iron Grill Pan (£14.99).
Fans and air conditioning
For when the hot weather rolls around, Lidl shoppers can get their hands on air conditioning units and fans including the Tronic Bladeless Fans which come in black or white. Large fans are £59.99 and small fans are £39.99.
There is also the Black and Decker 3 in 1 Smart Air Conditioner (£199) which is has three operating modes said to provide “high performance air conditioning, fan cooling or dehumidifying for large rooms up to 14m² for a comfortable, healthy home”.
Kids summer clothes
Kids summer clothes will be available from Sunday (May 24). There will be pyjamas featuring favourite characters from Pokemon, Spiderman, Snoopy and Paw Patrol (starting from £4.99).
There will also be joggers and leggings in a range of colours (£3.99), shorts (£3.49) and a two pack of t-shirts in prints like strawberries, lemons and dinosaurs (£2.99) as well as sandals (£3.99) and briefs (£1.79).
Outdoor play
Sunday will also see a selection of outdoor toys including a Water Slide (£19.99), Sand and Water Pool (£4.99) and Paddling Pool (£4.99).
There will also be water guns, Nerf guns and kickboards. For beach trips there will be inflatable beach balls, mattresses, goggles, water shoes and sunglasses.
Water sports
For fans of water sports Lidl is treating shoppers to an All-Round Inflatable SUP (stand up paddleboard) for £99.99. Shoppers will also find beach tents, pumps, and inflatable loungers for a full day by the sea.
There will also be towels, goggles, volleyballs, sliders and water sports vests, as well as inflatable toys in the shape of lollies, avocados, fruit and cupcakes.
