The ITV antiques expert surprised a guest.
A This Morning viewer was left stunned after discovering that a cherished family heirloom spanning three generations was valued at £1,000.
During a feature on the ITV daytime show, antiques specialist Dan Hatfield visited a fair in Bolton and chatted with various attendees about their prized possessions.
One woman brought along a Victorian till handed down from her great-grandmother and was astonished to learn its value.
The guest, Louisa, explained that the till originated from Liverpool, where her great-grandmother, who worked as a cleaner, rescued it from being discarded.
“We’ve had this till for three generations, and this is also in my spiritual hubs,” reports the Manchester Evening News.

Louisa disclosed that when visitors come, they press the till and make a wish, hoping for good fortune.
After discovering £20 inside the till, Dan announced: “I’m going to deliver you some good news.
“This is one in 480,000 made, however, the quality of this is sublime. There are very few in the world of this calibre.
“Very exciting when it comes to Victorian tills – I am that kind of sad person that gets excited by Victorian tills. The value of this is £1,000.”
“Wow!” Louisa responded. “I’m very surprised, there’s no value to it because obviously it’s family but I did not think it was that much.”
Dan then disclosed that another guest’s items were also valued at £1,000, which were Disney collectables.
“You’re looking at about £1,000 for that,” he said of a Peter Pan ship model, whilst a Mickey Mouse toy lantern carried the same price tag.
“This amazing 1930s lantern-before Facebook, Instagram, and Netflix-is how the kids entertained themselves. You had your own cinema at home.”
“Look how preserved this is,” he continued, labelling the lantern as “highly collectible” due to its rarity.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
