They became the first contestant to be dumped from the Love Island Villa in a tearful farewell

The first contestant to be dumped from the Love Island Villa has been unveiled.

Following last night’s dramatic recoupling cliffhanger, the latest episode (June 10) delivers yet another unexpected twist. Viewers had already witnessed Namibia’s decision to couple up with Sam and Victoria’s choice to pair with Ope, both of which sparked notable tension in the Villa.

The boys were then called forward one by one to declare which girl they wanted to couple up with. Sean stepped up first, unsurprisingly remaining with Lola.

Samraj followed, admitting his time in the Villa hasn’t been straightforward, before choosing Mica. Kavan shook things up by opting for Jasmine.

Lorenzo, confessing uncertainty over where his head was at, ultimately settled on Priya. Aidan then stood up, pairing with Yasmin, reports OK!.

Left standing alone and clutching each other’s hands were Ellie, Robyn and Angelista. Then, out of nowhere, a text message arrived with significant consequences for the three unattached girls.

The message read: ‘You are now single and vulnerable. Simba and Tommy are on their way to meet you.’.

The fresh bombshells made quite the entrance, introducing themselves to the group as the girls got their first look at the new arrivals. One girl, visibly taken with the newcomers, couldn’t hide her reaction, shooting the Villa a cheeky knowing glance.

Lorenzo then received another text, revealing that Simba and Tommy faced the crucial task of deciding which of the vulnerable girls they wished to couple up with. Simba makes the first move, choosing Angelista, with Tommy then opting for Ellie.

Once all selections are complete and fresh couples established, one girl remains waiting to learn her destiny. A final text message comes through for Robyn.

It reads: ‘You are now single and therefore dumped from the Island. Please pack your bags and say your goodbyes.

‘ The announcement sends shockwaves throughout the Villa as everyone gathers round her for an emotional farewell.

She tells them: “Guys don’t be upset, it is what it is.” Yet as she bids farewell to the girls in the dressing room, both she and Ellie become tearful.

Meanwhile, narrator Iain Stirling was quick to make a Liverpool linked gag as we watched Scouser Robyn become the first to pack her bags. He said: “Liverpool lose another legend. First Mohamed Salah, then Andy Robertson and now Robyn! You’ll never walk alone!”

Viewers were swift to respond online following the season’s first official dumping. One simply said: “Wow that’s brutal Angelista and Ellie saved.”

Another claimed: “Ellie is like a cat with nine lives in there. She’s been saved from being dumped THREE times and it’s only been on over a week, is this a record? ? Obsessed with her and her bags.”

Someone else added: “Does feel like there are some questionable dumpings every year. Really should be as simple as binning off the boring people.” While one fan posted: “Bye Robyn. you were a little whirlwind.”

Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
