This Morning: Corrie’s Jonathan Howard on the upcoming murder plot

Fans of Coronation Street believe they’ve figured out who brings down Megan Walsh in a shock baby twist.

ITV soap viewers will recall that Megan (portrayed by Beth Nixon) initially appeared in Weatherfield in November 2025, where she was introduced as the athletics coach of teenager Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale), who relocated from Hull to the cobbles alongside his family.

Will’s relatives include his father Ben (Aaron McCusker), grandmother Maggie (Pauline McLynn), brother Ollie (Raphael Akuwudike), and Ben’s partner Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley), who made her return to the street to manage the Rovers Return following a seven-year absence.

However, it subsequently emerged that Megan had been grooming 16-year-old Will for months, prior to his arrival in Weatherfield. That’s not the full story, as Megan is also expecting Will’s baby, having originally contemplated a termination.

Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) recently discovered the nature of Megan and Will’s relationship, with the predator quickly threatening the youngster to remain silent, reports the Daily Star.

Following a series of threats and abuse from Megan, Sam ultimately revealed the truth to his former stepmother, Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).

Leanne challenged Megan alongside her sisters, Eva and Toyah (Georgia Taylor), with the villain consistently denying the allegations. Nevertheless, the sibling trio could sense that she was deceiving them, so informed the police, with Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) promptly arresting Megan.

Megan has persistently denied her crimes throughout police questioning, with Will corroborating her account. The teacher’s pregnancy was revealed during Friday’s (March 20) episode, leaving Megan’s boyfriend, Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), speechless.

When Megan declined to undergo a DNA test to establish her innocence, Daniel started to question her. He subsequently took aim at his brother, Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), for agreeing to represent Megan.

Now, some viewers believe they’ve identified the Weatherfield resident who will get Megan imprisoned, and their theory may come as a surprise.

Several fans are convinced that Megan will get a secret termination to sidestep taking a DNA test, which will likely leave Will devastated. This could potentially prompt the youngster to recognise the teacher’s misconduct, and ultimately get him to give evidence against Megan in court.

“I wonder if slippery Megan aborts or tries to abort and Will finds out. Will he be angry enough to explode and let something slip?” one person posted on a Facebook fan page.

Another contributed: “I think he will slip up. He’s not coping well and wait until he finds out that the kid’s not his,” whilst a third said: “If she aborts the baby, Will will defo go against her.”

A fourth viewer echoed these thoughts, stating: “I think Will will be the one to end up telling everyone we’re in love, cause he’s been wanting to tell people. He’s 16 and doesn’t see anything wrong with it, so if he thinks it will keep her out of trouble, then I think he’ll tell, and I also think this other lad’s gonna end up saying a similar thing.”

Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and STV, and Coronation Street airs weekday nights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and STV as part of ITV’s new soap power hour scheduling pattern for Coronation Street and Emmerdale
