Eirlys Elizabeth Williams “leaves behind a legacy of boundless, fun memories”
Tributes have been paid to a “cherished” nan of six who died in hospital weeks after being involved in a two-vehicle crash. Eirlys Elizabeth Williams, 89, died in hospital on September 5, 18 days after being involved in an accident on the A5026 in Flintshire.
Mrs Williams’ family have since paid tribute to the nan, describing her as leaving behind “a legacy of boundless, fun memories”. In a tribute shared through police, they said: “Eirlys was known for her quick wit and spirited sense of humour.
“She was a loving mother to Rae and Antony (Tony) and a cherished grandmother to six.
“Eirlys found joy in reading, socialising with friends, and supporting the community. She leaves behind a legacy of boundless, fun memories and smiles for all who knew her.”
North Wales Police were called to the A5026 in Gorsedd just after 1.30pm on Monday, August 18, reports North Wales Live. The crash involved a red Nissan Micra and a grey BMW X3.
Police officers investigating the crash continue to appeal for witness to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Katie Davies, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, stated: “Our thoughts remain with Mrs Williams’ family and friends at this difficult time.
“We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this two-car collision, which involved a Red Nissan Micra and a grey BMW X3.
“The incident occurred shortly after 1.30pm on Monday, 18 August.
“We are appealing to anybody who witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage of the incident, to contact us.”
