Lauren Laverne was quick to notice an unlikely blunder
The One Show guest George Clarke was baffled after a hilarious blunder during an episode of the BBC show. Lauren Laverne and Vernon Kay welcomed viewers into another instalment of one of Britain’s favourite weekday programmes. But Lauren was taken by surprise when the two guests arrived on the sofa.
It was a heartwarming start to the programme which saw One Direction star Zayn Malik surprise a 13-year-old who had raised £77,000 for children in her local community.
After the emotional VT played out on screen, Lauren welcomed tonight’s guests onto the sofa, who in this case were architect George Clarke and TV star Joe Swash.
As they took their seats on the iconic sofa, Lauren couldn’t help but notice that Joe, George and her co-host Vernon were all wearing rather similar outfits. They’d all gone for a basic look, dressed in a black shirt paired with black or grey trousers.
It turned out Vernon and George were wearing the exact same trousers, which the architect thought was unbelievable.
Lauren joked she’d “missed the memo” as she sat in between the three men as she wore a stunning golden yellow dress. The presenter said: “We’ve got the men in black here on the sofa I missed the memo on that.”
George, Joe and Vernon were in stitches as they realised they all looked the same. Joe laughed as he said: “We got the memo.”
Vernon joked, he said: “We saw Zayn on the VT and we thought we’d start a band.”
George added: “We’ve got the same trousers on as well, what’s going in?” Vernon chipped in and said: “It’s because you’re very stylish George.”
Despite the hilarious start to the show George and Joe continued to discuss their latest endeavours.
Joe Swash is set to star in an upcoming episode of “Who Do You Think You Are?”. The show sees familiar faces exploring their family tree.
In this case, the programme saw Joe head over to Italy to learn more about his ancestors.
Speaking on The One Show, Joe said: “I’m at the age that I’m really interested in my family history. As a youngster I didn’t really care, but as I’ve grown older I’ve got this real thirst for it.”
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One
