It said the change was starting straight away
Aldi has confirmed a change affecting stores across the UK. It announced on Thursday that it had reduced prices on more than 200 products in time for summer.
Shoppers at “Britain’s biggest discounter”, as Aldi calls itself, can now enjoy lower prices across a wide range of everyday items, from fresh and frozen food and cupboard staples to household essentials and personal care products. Aldi said that, so far this year, it had invested more than £200 million in keeping prices low for customers, including £60 million of reductions introduced this week.
Shoppers can save 50p on selected fresh British beef steaks, including the 30 Day Matured British Rump Steak (now £4.69), 30 Day Matured British Sirloin Steak (now £5.99) and 28 Day Matured British Fillet Steak (now £6.79).
To help keep cool in the summer heat, Aldi has also dropped prices on its Gianni Ice Cream Lollies and Watermelon Fruit Lollies – both reduced from £1.99 to £1.79, along with its popular Ice Cream Cookies (was £2.49, now £1.95).
Shoppers can also enjoy some of Aldi’s most popular beers, wines and spirits for less, including its New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (was £7.49, now £6.99) and its Aperini Spritz 4-Pack (was £5.99, now £5.49). Aldi’s Lacura SPF50+ Sensitive Lotion is also reduced from £3.49 to £3.29.
Julie Ashfield, chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, said: “Now more than ever, we know that customers are looking to manage their budgets for the weekly shop, which is why we’re constantly reviewing prices across our range.
“These latest price reductions cover hundreds of everyday products and offer great value without compromising on quality.”
Aldi was recently named ‘Best Value Brand of the Year’ by consumer champion Which?.
