From a box at Anfield to VIP entry to the Cheese Room, Ryan Paton wouldn’t change… much

My lucky day has finally arrived and I’ve matched all six numbers to win the Lotto jackpot. After scanning my ticket another few thousand times to check I haven’t made a crazy error with the numbers, I would let it sink in that I’m now actually Liverpool’s next Lotto millionaire, and start planning the best way to spend my fortune.

While some people may look to keep their big win a secret, I could never sit on such life-changing news. I’d celebrate with everyone I know at the earliest possible moment. I’d go to the drastic measure of setting up a new WhatsApp group featuring every contact in my phone, title it “I’ve just won the Lotto jackpot” and share the location pin of the pub people should immediately head towards to celebrate my amazing win.

I’d toast my jackpot at my favourite pub, Dead Crafty, confident my newfound millions would mean I’d be going to the bar’s aptly named “fridge of dreams” for bottles of rare beers without a care in the world. I’ve always wanted to legitimately use the phrase “put it on my tab” and would leap at the chance to say this as many times as possible at the bar. Drinks are on me!

We’ll need some fancy food too; now’s the moment for my foodie bucket list reservation at Merseyside’s nearest Michelin starred restaurant, Moor Hall. I can’t wait to experience what their enticingly-named Cheese Room has to offer.

Eating out is one of life’s great joys and I would adopt dining at my favourite restaurants into my weekly routine. Within a few weeks, I’d like to be on first name terms with the staff at my favourite places, like Buyers Club and KaiBaiBo.

As a massive Liverpool FC supporter, I’d go all out and bag a hospitality box at Anfield for the next game. Just once though; I suspect I’d miss the atmosphere from my regular spot on the Kop.

With the serious football decisions sorted, it’d be time to buy my forever home. I recently moved to the south end of the city with my partner and feel settled. A large house near Sefton Park in the sought-after postcode of Aigburth would make me feel even more settled though.

My partner and I are currently saving to book a holiday to Japan. After winning the Lotto jackpot, we could immediately book our trip to Tokyo. Flying first class and staying in five star hotels, of course.

Before writing this, I thought I’d be one of those people who wouldn’t change much with more money. However, a box at Anfield, first class flights and fine dining doesn’t quite capture the humble aesthetic I was hoping to get across, does it?
