Liverpool take on Fulham at Anfield on Saturday afternoon, so we simulated the clash to predict the outcome.

Liverpool can extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points when the Reds face Fulham later today.

It’s been 10 days since Liverpool’s last Premier League outing after the Merseyside Derby clash with Everton was postponed last weekend, but it didn’t have an impact on their league positioning, with Arne Slot’s side still top of the league with a game in hand. A 1-0 win over Girona midweek extended Liverpool’s winning run in the Champions League to six games, but now, attention turns back to the league where the Reds welcome Fulham to Anfield.

Fulham have always proved a difficult opposition for Liverpool – the Cottagers found themselves 3-2 up at Anfield last season before the Reds came from behind to win 4-3. Slot has confirmed that Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa will both be fit for the clash later today, while Alexis Mac Allister is suspended.

So, can Liverpool extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table? Let’s take a look…

Liverpool vs Fulham Premier League score predicted

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Liverpool could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Jones; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Nunez.

We predict that Fulham could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Leno; Tete, Diop, Cuenca, Robinson; Lukic, Berge; Traore, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez.

Liverpool were handed an early scare when Andrew Robertson brought down Adama Traore in the box to award the visitors a penalty, but Alisson was able to bail out the Scotsman, with the ‘keeper making a big save to deny Raul Jimenez from the spot. The penalty seemed to be what was needed to shake the Reds into action, with Slot’s side managing to take the lead just before half-time.

A mazy run from Luis Diaz saw the Colombian breeze past multiple challenges before cutting in from the left, with the winger picking out Darwin Nunez on the edge of the box. Dropping deep to receive possession, Nunez used the run of Mohamed Salah to buy himself some time, and a fantastic strike saw the Uruguayan find the top corner to put the Reds in front.

Ryan Gravenberch almost doubled Liverpool’s lead early in the second half when a one-two with Curtis Jones saw him break through one-on-one with the ‘keeper, but his lifted shot failed to drop into the net, with the ball instead skimming the top of the crossbar. Fulham grew in confidence as the game went on with just one goal separating the sides, but with 12 minutes to go, Slot’s side got the decisive second to put the game to bed.

Dominik Szoboszlai made it 2-0 to Liverpool(Image: EA Sports)

Salah cut inside from the right before flicking the ball to Jones outside the box, but the midfielder smartly let the pass run through his legs, with the ball falling to Dominik Szoboszlai instead. After one touch out of his feet, the Hungarian sent a powerful effort into the top corner, leaving the ‘keeper with no chance to wrap up another big three points.

EA FC 25 predicted final score: Liverpool 2-0 Fulham
