Road ‘to be closed for some time’ after serious crash

Emergency services are currently at the scene in Aughton

A road is currently closed following reports of a car crash. Emergency services surrounded Fir Tree Lane in Aughton this evening, Wednesday December 11.

It is understood the incident happened at around 9.30pm. In a statement on Facebook, Lancashire Police confirmed the road closure: “Please be advised that Fir Tree Lane, Aughton is currently closed due to a road traffic collision.

“We anticipate that the road will be closed for some time whilst we make sure the road is safe. We’ll update you here once the road is open. Thank you for your patience.” Lancashire Police has been approached for a statement.
