Mohamed Salah has continued his spate of wordless social media posts following his impressive double in Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Newcastle United on Wednesday. The Egyptian once again proved his worth to the Reds after inspiring the comeback and firing Arne Slot’s side ahead until Fabian Schar’s late equaliser.

The 32-year-old moved ahead in the race for the golden boot after his brace took him ahead of Erling Haaland in the race to finish top goalscorer. Salah’s future remains at the forefront of conversation and with each passing week, the record-breaking forward hits the headlines as he continues his blistering form.

Wednesday’s double for Salah turned the encounter on its head with Liverpool looking to extend their lead at the top, after twice falling behind but a mistake from Caoimhin Kelleher late on saw the spoils shared.

Speaking after the frustration, Slot heaped praise on the star forward, he said: “Every time we need Mo Salah he scores a goal.

“We are hoping and we expect he can continue this for a long time. He was outstanding in the second half, he did many special things for us. Mo had a massive impact.

“It’s difficult to predict the future but Mo’s in an incredible place in a very good team that gives him opportunities at the moment and he’s able to do special things. He wasn’t playing his best game at first but then he did things not many players can do. He’s a special player. His finishing is so clinical. He leads by example and he trains so hard it is not surprising he does so well.”
