All services are currently suspended
Mersey Ferries has issued an update after all its services were suspended. All services are currently suspended today, Monday, June 16 due to “a reoccurring issue”.
In a statement on its social media pages, Mersey Ferries apologised for the cancellations and said it would keep people updated. The team, which is part of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, said: “Due to a reoccurring issue, the ferry service will remain suspended at this time.
“The teams and specialist contractors are working hard to get this resolved. Further updates to follow. We apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause.”
In an update, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority said the cancellations were due to a “reoccurring maintenance issue”.
A spokesperson for the Combined Authority said: “The Mersey Ferries have been temporarily suspended due to a reoccurring maintenance issue.
“The ferries team and specialist contractors are working hard to get this resolved. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank customers for their patience.”
Mersey Ferries website added that for commuters today, tickets can be used on cross-river Merseyrail services.
For commuters tomorrow (June 17), a bus replacement service will operate between “Seacombe, Hamilton Square and Seacombe both morning and evening.”
The commuter ferry service operates each weekday between the Liverpool Gerry Marsden ferry terminal at the Pier Head and Seacombe in Wirral.
There are also a number of cruise options available for tourists and sightseers.
