Coleen Rooney appeared to make a dig in tonight’s episode of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! as she opened up about her husband Wayne’s career. The 38-year-old married the former Manchester United striker in 2008 and the couple share four sons, Kai, Klay, Kit and Cass Mac.

Wayne was appointed manager of the Championship football team Plymouth Argyle in May, after three months in charge at Birmingham last season. In tonight’s episode, McFly singer Danny Jones quizzed Coleen whether or not Wayne, whose team suffered a gruelling 6-1 defeat to Norwich City on Tuesday (November 26), was “loving managing” the team.

Coleen responded: “Yeah, he does enjoy it, it’s hard though. I find it more nerve wracking him being a manager than I did when he was playing… I feel more pressure.”

Barry said of Wayne: “Well, he was very mature very quickly wasn’t he, he grew up very quickly?” To which Coleen replied: “Well, I don’t know about that!” as the camp laughed in response.

In a previous episode, the mum-of-four recalled the early days of dating former Everton striker Wayne Rooney. She told campmates she would get “embarrassed” when Wayne showed up to her school in one of his teammate’s cars.

Coleen said: “I was still at school when he was playing for Everton. I used to walk out and all the girls were going, ‘Whose is that car there?’ And he was in a Bentley and something else and there’s Wayne in the passenger seat with his arm out and one of the players like Thomas Gravesen.”

She added: “I just used to get embarrassed.” Clarifying it wasn’t his car, she said: “He just used to get a lift home.”
