Coleen Rooney has been named the runner-up for I’m a Celebrity 2024.

Coleen Rooney has been named the runner-up for I’m a Celebrity 2024. The Liverpool mum made it all the way to the final two alongside McFly’s Danny Jones.

Croxteth-born Coleen was among the first 10 celebrities who headed into the jungle on November 17. She was joined by the likes of Strictly Come Dancing’s Oti Mabuse, TikTok star GK Barry, and Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall.

As the camp got increasingly smaller with the vote-offs coming thick and fast, Coleen managed to keep her place by surviving each public vote and she was never among the bottom two. Coleen was narrowly beaten to the crown by Danny Jones but finished ahead of finalist Reverend Richard Coles in tonight’s final.

She said her time in the jungle has been “hilarious and challenging” and she has made memories to last her a lifetime. Coleen said she took on the role of being mum in camp and wanted to keep herself busy. Reflecting on the time in the jungle she added “it gave me time to think about me and how I want my loved ones around me.”

During her time in the jungle, the mum-of-four has been praised for her determination and can-do attitude. Coleen took part in a number of trials, many of which she put herself forward for and managed to secure meals for camp in each one.

In one trial, ‘Arcade of Agony’ Coleen was tended to by a medic after a bug had crawled into her ear. Viewers were impressed with Coleen’s handling of the situation as she stayed calm. Much praise came her way throughout the trials she took on and after last night’s Celebrity Cyclone presenters Ant and Dec called her a “machine” with many fans of the show agreeing on social media.

Above all, it has been the down-to-earth manner of Coleen which has made her a fan favourite throughout the series. The TV personality, 38, has been married to the former Everton striker Wayne Rooney since 2008 and the couple share four sons; Kai, 13, Klay, 10, Kit, seven, and Cass, five, together.

She has opened up on her family life regularly to campmates and her relatability has resonated with many viewers. She spoke about everything from her relationship with Wayne to her children and her own childhood. One particularly emotional scene came when her family came to visit her in camp. The 38-year-old burst into tears when she realised her mum and two youngest boys were in the jungle.

Wayne has supported his wife every step of the way on her route to becoming I’m a Celebrity runner-up and Wayne and their two older sons sent her a message before the final and said “We love you and are all proud of you. Always be our winner no matter what”.

Messages of support flooded social media for Coleen. One post said: “She didn’t win, but Coleen Rooney has shown her true self. Down to earth, kind hearted and humble! Whatever has happened she has not took that with her into the jungle. She was my winner from the start! She has done herself proud.”

Another added: “Just want to say that Coleen was brilliant too…what a lovely lady! She was warm, kind, and absolutely bossed the trials! I’m sure your family is always super proud of you, Coleen. Well done.”

And one commenter spoke on behalf of Liverpool saying: Congrats to Danny!!! But gutted for Coleen, but she is already making #Liverpool proud. She has come so far, and she should be proud.”
