Coronation Street viewers all said the same thing after Kit Green made a huge “mistake” on the ITV soap. A dark storyline has seen the Weatherfield detective find himself at the centre of a dangerous feud.

Earlier this year, Corrie fans were introduced to nightmare neighbours Lou (Farrel Hegarty) and her husband Mick (Joe Layton). The couple were quick to shake things up in Weatherfield and have already had their fair share of drama.

It has recently been revealed that Kit was friendly with newcomers Mick and Lou when he was younger. A dramatic flashback episode explained all about the group’s dark past.

Viewers saw Mick and Kit find themselves in a violent altercation as teenagers, which led to Mick being sent to prison. During this time, Kit and Lou had an affair which led to the birth of Brody, who is now 16.

Returning back to the present day, Kit has been trying to come to terms with the news he is actually Brody’s biological father. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the intense rivalry between Kit and Mick continues, while Brody remains completely unaware of the truth about his real father.

The tension reached boiling point last week when Mick proved his violent persona. He lashed out at P.C Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) and hit him with a baseball bat He was rushed to hospital, but it was later revealed that he had died, signally Colson’s exit from the soap.

Mick was arrested for murder, and Kit has been struggling to deal with Craig’s death, as he felt he was partly to blame. During Wednesday’s (May 28) broadcast of the ITV soap, Kit arranged for Mick to be brutally attacked while in prison to get revenge.

Later in the episode, Kit admitted to his boss D.S Lisa Swain that he was responsible for arranging the attack. Viewers all said the same thing after Kit’s malicious act which put his job at serious risk.

Taking to social media, one fan said: “Wonder if this will lead to the eventual downfall of Kit” while another said: “Kit only cares about number one #Corrie.”

More added to the conversation on X: “You are an idiot Kit!” and “Why would Kit own up to his sergeant about beating up Mick? He wouldn’t. He could lose his job.” Another added: “Corrupt Kit and Mick are such horrible people, let’s hope they cancel one another out.”

Kit visited Mick in hospital and revealed he was the one who arranged the attack, reigniting the dangerous spark between the two rivals. Viewers will have to wait until Friday’s episode to see if Mick will strike back, or if Kit will get away with his violent actions.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV. Episodes are released on ITVX at 7am.
