Vitalii Mykolenko is back in Everton training ahead of the Carabao Cup second round clash

Everton have been handed a big fitness boost ahead of the Carabao Cup clash with Mansfield Town. Vitalii Mykolenko has been pictured back in training.

The Blues will be back at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Wednesday night for the second-round showdown. On Sunday, the team played their first competitive game at the new stadium, with goals from Iliman Ndiaye and James Garner enough to earn a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

The match against Mansfield will be the first game under the lights at the stadium, and David Moyes is expected to make a number of changes for the game.

It would appear he has been boosted by the return of Mykolenko to training as well. Everton released images from training on Tuesday night, and the Ukrainian left-back could be seen running with the main group.

In their two Premier League games so far, Everton have had to use Garner as an emergency left-back.

Mykolenko’s expected deputy, Adam Aznou, has been suffering with an injury – he was on the bench on Sunday before withdrawing from the squad prior to kick-off – while Jarrad Branthwaite is also currently sidelined.

Tyler Dibling was also pictured working with the squad.

The 19-year-old winger officially completed his move from Southampton on Monday evening and is expected to be in contention to feature against the League One outfit.

The Blues have already confirmed that the match at Hill Dickinson Stadium is a sell-out. Everton will be hoping to make progress in the competition as they look to end a 30-year trophy drought.
