Strictly Come Dancing winner Ellie Leach has issued a message to the BBC finalists ahead of tonight’s episode. Excitement is building ahead of the Strictly Come Dancing final as the remaining four celebrations get ready to take to the dancefloor for one last time.

Chris McCausland is the favourite to lift the glitterball in tonight’s show, which gets underway at 6pm on BBC One. Last year’s winner Ellie Leach stole the nation’s heart when she danced the American smooth and scored a perfect 40 in the 2023 competition final.

Ellie, 23, won the series with professional dancer Vito Coppola, making her the youngest ever winner of the BBC show. She has shared a message on Instagram wishing this year’s finalists good luck ahead of tonight.

In a post she said: “One whole year ago we lifted that glitterball trophy good luck to all the @bbcstrictly finalists tonight, it’s going to be an incredible night!!!!!” The message was shared with a stunning photo of her and Vito lifting the glitterball trophy together after bagging the win.

Following last weekend’s semi-final, it was decided by the public that Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell, JB Gill and Lauren Oakley, Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec and Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola would compete in the last week of Strictly 2024.

It’s also been revealed that they will be dancing three of their favourite dance routines of the series in tonight’s final and while the judges – Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke – will be scoring the routines as they usually would, it’s for guidance only. Who lifts the Glitterball trophy will all be down to the voting viewers.
