One Coronation Street legend could be left with a serious injury after being the victim of a hit and run.

This week, ITV viewers were left stunned as Coronation Street’s Tyrone Dobbs (portrayed by Alan Halsall) was hit by a car in a shocking turn of events.
The much-loved character on the soap, which recently saw one star tease a possible return, became the victim of a hit and run, orchestrated by Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) and Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey), who are embroiled in Carl Webster’s (Jonathan Howard) car-theft scheme.
In a bid to avoid hitting Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), the teenagers swerved, missing her but crashing into Tyrone instead, resulting in him being rushed to hospital.
Carla Connor (Alison King) had the difficult task of informing Tyrone’s wife, Fiz (Jennie McAlpine), about the accident, hinting at potential turmoil for their family.
Next week’s episodes will see Tyrone waking up in hospital, urgently requesting to speak to a doctor, indicating that all is not well, reports the Daily Star.

Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone, revealed his character wakes up unable to feel his legs after the accident.
He said: “There’s just a hell of a lot of fear, wondering how he’s got there, why he’s feeling like this. He is terrified.
“Initially, there is a concern that he might not get up at all. There’s real fear there, and not just fear from Tyrone but fear from Fiz and the kids and his mum and gran.
“They don’t know if he’ll walk again or how life is going to look going forward. But he knows they will all try to stick together and face what the future holds.”
As reported by Metro, Tyrone is left in a state of fear when the doctor informs him that he requires emergency surgery.
Alan spoke about the extensive research conducted by both himself and the show, including consulting with the on-set medical team to ensure accurate portrayal of the injury.
He further commented: “The show’s brilliant at doing the research. The thing is with a spinal injury, though, is that they’re different for every single person.
“So speaking to the medical professionals who are on set, I’m wanting to know, ‘how much can I turn my shoulders? How much can I turn my head?’
“But everybody has a different reaction to their surgery, and therefore, there is no real timeline. It means that we don’t have to be so specific, because that could also bring its challenges.
“But it’s being aware that there are people at home who this has happened to for real. The charity is also arranging for us to meet someone who has been living through a similar situation so it will be invaluable to get some insight from them.”
In upcoming Coronation Street spoilers, Fiz rings home post-Tyrone’s surgery with news for the family, although the exact details remain undisclosed.
