Ricky Tomlinson was joined by many other famous faces as he headed to Comic Con in Northern Ireland today. The Liverpool comedy legend has been in the news recently as he reprised his role as Bobby Grant in the iconic Scouse soap Brookside.

Northern Ireland’s Comic Con is one of the Europe’s largest pop culture conventions, attracting tens of thousands of fans annually to the Eikon Centre. At the exhibition, fans can pay for autographs from their favourite celebrities and take selfies with them, also for an additional fee.

The celebrities made their way to Comic Con on a mini bus together this morning, September 6. A picture shared by Comic Con Northern Ireland on Instagram showed Royle Family star Ricky Tomlinson sitting next to Dr Who legend Colin Baker. Ricky was pictured wearing the striped yellow top, synonymous with his on-screen counterpart Jim Royle.

The photo was also uploaded to Facebook and received plenty of comments. The picture of the celebrity guests was captioned “The guests are in their way!”

One comment said: “Now THAT’S a coach trip and a half!” Another reply read: “Awesome! Imagine casually just sitting on a Coach with Tyler Mane.”

Others said “now there’s a sitcom for the ages” and “Cracking photo! That’s some bus. Enjoy today everyone.” One fan said: “This photo deserves to be shared all over the Internet.”

Peter Davison was also pictured in the star-studded photo, he played the fifth incarnation of the Doctor in Doctor Who from 1981 to 1984. Laurie Holden, known for roles as Marita Covarrubias in The X-Files and Andrea Harrison in AMC’s The Walking Dead was also in the snap.
