Liam’s family said they ‘hope he is at peace now’, after he was killed in a collision on Friday afternoon
A dad who died after being struck by a car in Barnsley has been named publicly for the first time.
Liam Green, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene following a collision in the Cudworth area on Friday afternoon (April 3). In a tribute, his family said: “We hope you’re at peace now. We all love you very much, sending you big hugs from your mam, sons, brother and family.”
South Yorkshire Police said four people had been arrested after launching a murder investigation, Yorkshire Live has confirmed.
A 33-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were both arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday, police confirmed, and have since been bailed while detectives continue to investigate the fatal crash. A 60-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were also arrested on suspicion of murder.

South Yorkshire Police said: “We are continuing to work at pace to understand the circumstances of this incident and are asking for anyone with information which could assist officers with their enquiries to come forward.”
