The latest Arsenal injury news ahead of their clash with Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday
Arsenal head to Anfield for a huge early clash in the Premier League season on Sunday. They will be without at least one crucial player against Liverpool.
The Gunners have won their first two games without conceding a goal, following up an opening-weekend victory at Manchester United with a 5-0 hammering of Leeds United last time out. The latter win came at a cost, though.
Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard hobbled out of the game with issues. Speaking ahead of the match, Mikel Arteta confirmed that the former will definitely miss the Liverpool fixture due to a hamstring problem.

“Bukayo is doing better, but he will be out for a few weeks, unfortunately,” Arteta said on Friday.
“No surgery — it’s not as bad as the previous one. Very unfortunate to pick it up because it’s on the other side. It’s an action that requires full power from him. Then he clashed with the opponent, he needed to change pace again, and he felt something. So he will be out for a couple of weeks.”
On Odegaard, the prognosis sounds a lot more positive, and there appears to be a strong chance of the Arsenal captain being involved against the Reds.
“We don’t know yet,” Arteta said. “He hasn’t trained yet, and if he does, it will be tomorrow. He’s doing everything he can, we’re doing everything that we can to make him available, but we’ll have to wait and see tomorrow.”
Arsenal could also be boosted by the return of two more players. Ben White and new signing Christian Norgaard both missed the Leeds game but are close to returning, according to the Arsenal head coach.
“That’s another two that we don’t know yet,” he said. “Again, tomorrow we have another day, let’s see how they evolve, and there’s a chance to keep them involved in the game.”
One player definitely out is Kai Havertz. The Germany international has undergone surgery on his knee after sustaining an injury against Manchester United.
Gabriel Jesus is another long-term absentee, sidelined since January with a cruciate ligament tear.
