Merseyside Police has confirmed a 61-year-old man has been taken to hospital with his injuries
A man has been arrested after a Ford Focus collided with a number of people following an incident outside a pub. Merseyside Police has confirmed officers were called to a disturbance outside the Queens Arms pub on Black Brow in Huyton at around 6.20pm today, Sunday, June 15.
Following enquiries it was identified that a white Ford Focus had been involved in a collision with a number of pedestrians, causing a serious ankle injury to a 61-year-old man. He has been taken to hospital for treatment.It was reported that the Ford Focus had made off from the scene, and after conducting enquiries officers located the vehicle.
A 30-year-old man from Huyton has since been arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding, drink driving, dangerous driving, making off from the scene of a crash and attempted section 18 assault. He remains in custody awaiting questioning.
The ECHO has attempted to contact the Queens Arms for comment on Instagram and via phone.
Merseyside Police has confirmed the force is appealing for any witnesses, CCTV and dash camera footage which could assist the investigation.
Detective chief inspector Louise Hooley said: “We are in the early stages of the investigation as we seek to establish the full circumstances which led to the collision.
“I would appeal to anyone who has information or witnessed the collision to please contact us. “In addition I ask people in the area to please check your CCTV and dashcam footage to see if it may have captured a white Ford Focus to help with the investigation.”
