EXCLUSIVE: Anne Hegerty has admitted she would head back to the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! jungle for the All Stars edition if her co-star does it as well
Anne Hegerty has confirmed she will sign up for I’m A Celebrity… South Africa on one condition.
The TV quizzer has been a key figure on the ITV show The Chase since 2010 as one of the longest serving Chasers.
Also known as The Governess, she also appears on the Australian version of the show.
However, Anne has not just been see on quiz shows, she has also made an appearance elsewhere on ITV.
Back in 2018, the 67-year-old cemented herself as a viewer favourite when she appeared on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!
Despite initial struggles in the jungle, she became the fifth campmate to leave the show, securing the backing from fans.
But now, Anne has spoken out about whether she would take part in anymore reality TV shows.
Speaking exclusively to Reach, Anne said: “I’ve kind of done the biggest one there is and I can’t dance, I just absolutely cannot dance.
“I’ve said that I would do I’m a Celebrity All Stars only if John Barrowman does it as well. I love John Barrowman, he’s a great friend and I want him back on TV.”
The all-star version of I’m A Celebrity, known as I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, brings together some of the most memorable campmates from previous series as they return to the iconic camp to test themselves in brand new trials and challenges in the South African wilderness.
Earlier this month ITV confirmed the second series of I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, is set to air in 2026 following its huge success back in 2023.
A statement from ITV confirmed: “Campmates have already proved that they can survive the Australian jungle, but this is I’m A Celebrity… on a whole new level, it’s where legends are made. The trials are tougher than ever and with that, so are the stakes.
“With relentless twists and turns, the campmates will never know what’s coming next. They will be faced with challenges at every turn, quickly learning that with big decisions come even bigger consequences.”
During her time in the jungle, Anne was seen opening up about her autism as she broke down, admitting she may not be able to handle staying in the camp.
However, her fellow campmates rallied around to offer support as fans also took to social media to praise the star.
Speaking at the National Diversity Awards in Liverpool she opened up about her autism, saying: “Being in the limelight is fine, being at a something like this is fine as long as people actually want to talk to me I’m not just stumbling around looking baffled.”
When asked how she was finding Liverpool she joked: “It’s very Liverpudlian.”
The Chase airs weekdays on ITV1 at 5pm and I’m A Celebrity… South Africa will return in 2026
