The budget supermarket chain has released some experimental cheese flavours to add to your Christmas cheese board

Aldi has unveiled a range of new cheese flavours

Aldi has unveiled a series of quirky new cheese flavours for Christmas, including wasabi and cheddar and a fudge-infused cheese. The supermarket’s latest range of Specially Selected cheeses start from just £2.49.

A festive cheeseboard is a staple of many family’s Christmas spreads, and there are a few classic products you’re guaranteed to find on the table. But this Christmas, shoppers can opt for bold flavours to mix things up a bit. The unusual flavour combinations aren’t what you’d usually expect to find in the supermarket’s cheese aisle.

One of the cheeses on offer is the Specially Selected Wensleydale with West Country Fudge, priced at £2.49 for 200g. The retailer says “this unique cheese blends the tangy, crumbly texture of Wensleydale with the rich, buttery sweetness of West Country fudge, creating a surprisingly delicious cheesecake taste that’s perfect for satisfying both that sweet and savoury craving”.

And the quirky flavours don’t end there, with a Specially Selected Coastal Cheddar with Wasabi and Ginger, which is also priced at £2.49 for 200g. With a fiery kick of wasabi and the warming spice of ginger, it offers shoppers the chance to add a spicy element to their Christmas buffets.

Curry fans can also enjoy a Specially Selected Bombay Spiced Red Leicester with Geeta’s Mango Chutney, priced at £2.49 for 200g, with another new item on the shelves in the form of the Specially Selected Coastal Cheddar with Pineapple, priced at £2.49 for 200g.

Finally, truffle lovers can get stuck into returning favourite Specially Selected Sheep’s Cheese with Truffle, priced at £3.49 for 175g). This cheese, crafted from sheep’s milk, is infused with the =essence of truffle.

The budget retailer has also unveiled a range of festive chutneys to accompany their new cheeses, including spiced apple and pear, fig honey and orange, and spiced plum and blackberry.
