The supermarket has created a selection of temporary items to celebrate some of its most iconic items from the middle aisle
Aldi has launched the UK’s first-ever collection of tattoos inspired by some of its beloved Specialbuy products that shoppers can win. The supermarket developed these tattoos to honour some of its most iconic products from the middle aisle that many shoppers find irresistible when browsing.
Research commissioned by Aldi has shown that younger generations are moving away from the traditional belief that tattoos must be a lifelong commitment. The study of 2,000 people discovered that two-fifths (43%) of Gen Z’ers view tattoos as part of an “evolving canvas” that can be modified and refreshed over time.
As many as 45% of Brits would even contemplate getting a tattoo connected to a brand or product they truly adore, reports the Mirror. More than half (57%) of Gen Z and Millennials confess they think of tattoos as a fashion statement rather than a lifelong pledge.
A third (36%) of tattooed Brits in the survey said they have wished to remove previous tattoos or looked into methods to conceal or transform their existing artwork. The survey also uncovered Britons’ anxiety about tattoo regret, with over half the nation (58%) having contemplated using temporary tattoos as an option.
The research emerges as Aldi unveils its unusual tattoo range, celebrating customers’ fascination with the supermarket’s constantly changing Specialbuy selection.
The popular aisle receives fresh stock every Thursday and Sunday, providing a diverse array of products alongside the weekly food shop. Here’s the full list of temporary tattoos available at Aldi:
- Pilates Machine
- Hanging Egg Chair
- Kamado BBQ
- Kayak
- Air Fryer
- Garden Tool Shed
- Lawn Mower
- Paddling Pool
- Aldimania Sliders
- Stand Mixer
Each tattoo design represents a product that has become popular among Aldi shoppers, from everyday essentials to seasonal items that have caused a stir on social media. One of the latest products to be immortalised in tattoo form is a Pilates machine.
The Pilates machine caused quite a sensation when it was launched in Australia last year. British shoppers had the opportunity to snap up a Reformer Pilates Machine for £149.99, leading to queues outside supermarkets on launch day.
Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, commented: “Our shoppers love our middle aisle – with products often going viral across social media and selling out fast. Now, thanks to our brand-new tattoos, shoppers can show off just how much they love Aldi Specialbuys!”
For those who want to (semi-) permanently express their affection for the middle aisle, shoppers can enter to win a selection of these limited edition Specialbuy tattoos by emailing their name and date of birth to [email protected]. Competition entries can be submitted from midnight on August 6, 2025, to 11.59pm on August 22, 2025. Full terms and conditions apply.
