Thomas Reynolds, 13, was found dead on the railway tracks near Culceth, Warrington
Heartfelt tributes have poured in today following the death of schoolboy Thomas Reynolds. The 13-year-old was found shortly after 4.35pm on Sunday, December 15, when emergency services were alerted to a casualty on the railway tracks near Culcheth, Warrington.
Paying tribute to her son, Thomas’ mum said: “Thomas was an incredibly loving and caring son, big brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to so many. He was loved so much by us all. Thomas had such a bright future ahead of him and it is tragic that his life has been cut so short.
“He was such a bright, beautiful, funny boy who will leave a lasting legacy on everyone who knew him. He would help anyone in a heartbeat and it’s been incredibly humbling to hear so many stories about the impact he had on people’s lives. We are truly devastated and heartbroken as a family with the loss of our beautiful boy. Our lives will truly never be the same again.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has come forward and offered their kind words of support. We have been comforted by messages from family and friends.”
ECHO readers posted messages of condolence on social media following the tragic news. Emily Louise said: “So tragic taken that young. Poor lad, rest in peace. Heart goes out to his family and friends.”
Lee Mainey wrote: “So sad. Condolences to the family. So heartbreaking. Please look after yourselves. I know it’s bad times. But remember the beautiful things. The laughs and all the times you spent together.”
Ruth Crockett added: “No parent should ever have to bury their child young handsome child rest in eternal peace beautiful angel.” Mary Jenkinson said: “So sad looking at this beautiful lad with a whole life that he should had had in front of him. Completely devastating. God rest his soul.”
Police officers and paramedics were called to the area on Sunday, but Thomas was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious, British Transport Police said.
“Major disruption” was announced on Northern, TransPennine Express and Transport for Wales services following the incident, with all lines all lines between Newton-le-Willows and Eccles being closed. Trains were cancelled, severely delayed by up to 60 minutes, revised or diverted as emergency services attended.
