Coronation Street star Claire was in a relationship with Hatton this year after their romance blossomed while competing on Dancing On Ice. The soap star from Walton announced they had split up earlier this month, but revealed they have remained on good terms.
She told MailOnline at the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada: “I’m great – we’re still friends, we were friends, we dated and now we’re friends again. It’s all good!”
With regards to the breakup, a source told the publication that the former couple “remain good friends” and that there wasn’t a “fallout between them”.
The source said: “They decided they’re better off as pals and are no longer romantically together. They enjoyed their time as a couple and have plenty of shared interests, but their lifestyles are very different.” The source added: “While Claire is one of the biggest stars on Coronation Street and is very career-gliding, Ricky’s more freewheeling and unpredictable.”
Claire spoke to the ECHO in an exclusive interview this month about her busy 12 months as she competed on Dancing On Ice and established herself as a main character on Corrie. She told the ECHO in an exclusive interview: “I thought I’d had the better days of my career, so to have a year like this, I just feel so grateful and blessed.”
While they were dating, Claire shared why she and Hatton hit it off. She told Lorraine: “I’ve known Ricky for like 25 years and always passed each other at events.
She added: “I first met him in La Manga in the early 2000’s, then we did Dance for Comic Relief together 2013, and then we met on Dancing on Ice and it’s great.”
She also shared one thing they have in common, as she added: “He makes me laugh and we both like Only Fools and Horses, so what’s not to like!”
