Stephen Mulhern has returned to our television screens as the host of ITV show You Bet! alongside Holly Willoughby. The presenter has presented many shows during his career which has spanned more than two decades.
The London-born presenter’s latest hosting job is a reboot of the game show You Bet! with Holly Willoughby. The ITV game show, originally hosted by Bruce Forsyth and also Matthew Kelly, sees contestants take part in epic challenges in a bid to take home £10,000. The show returns to ITV1 on Saturday, December 14 at 8.15pm.
The 47-year-old presenter is no stranger to game shows. Stephen currently hosts the revived series of Deal or No Deal and In For a Penny, both on ITV.

Stephen’s television career began on the children’s show Merlin in 1997, and he later went on to present CITV between 1998 and 2002. He showed off his magic skills as a magician on The Quick Trick Show between 1999 and 2004, which featured illusions and magic tricks.
He is a familiar face on ITV and has appeared on many of the channel’s biggest and best-loved shows including Dancing On Ice, Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and Catchphrase.
Before becoming one of the UK’s most recognisable presenters, Stephen Mulhern started out as a keen magician, and was the youngest member of the Magic Circle. The famed magic organisation broke with tradition and allowed a 17-year-old Stephen into their ranks, The Mirror reports.
However, Stephen was later suspended by the organisation after he broke one of their rules – never reveal your tricks. The presenter taught viewers a card trick on the TV show ‘Finger Tips.’ His membership was later reinstated.
Stephen keeps much about his personal life private. Although he regularly shares career updates with his fans on his social media platforms.
Not much is known about his family life or relationships and Stephen has remained tight lipped on his love life over the years. Back in 2008, Stephen was linked to EastEnders star Emma Barton, who plays Honey Mitchell on the BBC soap.
The pair were said to have grown close while starring in a pantomime production of Snow White in Birmingham at the time, but neither star ever confirmed the rumours although they were spotted out together for a duration of three years.
