Firefighters deal with car on fire
‘Fireworks’ were heard this evening after a car burst into flames in Norris Green. Fire crews were called to Utting Avenue East at around 5.55pm on Friday, December 13.
A video sent to the ECHO shows a number of firefighters battling the huge blaze. The car appears to explode like a firework as embers burst from the vehicle. The flames are eventually extinguished and a huge cloud of smoke billows from the car.
The driver was out of the car when crews arrived, a spokesperson for Mersey Fire and Rescue confirmed. The fire is not thought to have been started deliberately.

A witness told the ECHO: “I just looked out of my window and it sounded like fireworks. I was told it just happened and the owner’s jumped out. No one was hurt, just the car.”
