Fans were overwhelmed during an incredibly emotional final episode of the BBC show
Strictly Come Dancing viewers were overcome with emotion as they overheard a comment after Chris McCausland’s performance. The Scouse comic took to the dancefloor for one last time with Dianne Buswell for the showpiece event.
The 47-year-old is the show’s first ever blind contestant and has emerged as the favourite to lift the glitterball. Chris’ first performance of the night was his Couple’s Choice to Instant Karma.
The two followed it up with their showdance to You Get What You Give by the New Radicals. Viewers and the judges were blown away by the performances and praised the two for their incredible journey.

Dianne branded Chris as a “friend for life” as they have formed an amazing bond for their show. Fans have loved to see the dance partners’ blossoming friendship and their incredible chemistry.
As the two walk back to the Clauditorium, Dianne always signifies to Chris when they are about to reach the stairs. Viewers were blown away when they overheard the comment for one of the last times after the first dance.
Denise said: “We’re going up now Chris. What an incredible lady Dianne is, just love her.” Jonny added: “Dianne giving the “going up” signal is just ace each week. A beautiful partnership with Chris.”
Pam posted: “I just love Dianne directing Chris and ensuring he’s safe going up the stairs to speak with Claudia. She has always respected his sight loss & treats him with utmost respect.” Faye posted: “I’m gonna miss crying every time I watch Chris and Dianne dance, talk or walk up the stairs.”
The dancers received 38 points for the first two of their three dances in the final. Chris admitted he has been unable to contain his emotions as he has been in tears all week as he reflected on his journey.
After his first performance, he said: “I shed a tear when I did the Viennese Waltz last week and I haven’t been able to turn the tap off this week. I’m just so overwhelmed to be here in the final. I’m just really proud of what we’ve been able to do.”
Viewers were feeling the same as they took to social media platform X and said they have been blown away by Chris’ performance. Naomi said: “Chris and Dianne have made me cry every single week now.”
Anton Du Beke issued a glowing verdict on Chris’ journey that viewers on social media platform X were in agreement with as he said: “Are you the best dancer we’ve ever had on Strictly? Probably not. Are you the most extraordinary. Most certainly.”
