Fans couldn’t help but notice the reaction from one of Chris’ fellow finalists
Strictly Come Dancing viewers were taken aback by the reaction of Chris McCausland’s fellow finalists to his incredible win. The Scouse comedian made history when he lifted the glitterball in Saturday’s final.
The 47-year-old’s inspiring performances with Dianne Buswell captured the hearts of the nation on their way to winning the competition. They fought off tough competition from three other pairs in what fans have branded one of the best Strictly finals of all time.
Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola, Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec, along with JB Gill and Lauren Oakley were the other three finalists in the BBC programme’s showpiece event. Although Chris finished at the bottom of leaderboard, he won the public vote as Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman confirmed he was this season’s winner.
However, there was no hard feelings as the other contestants rushed to celebrate with Chris and Dianne after the announcement. Fans following the show on social media platform X were thrilled with how happy Vito was to relinquish his crown to the new winners.

Brogan added: “I also love how genuinely happy the other finalists were for Chris and Dianne. Like did you see how Vito was literally bouncing in the air.”
Chris was overcome with emotion after his Strictly win. He issued a tribute to his co-partner as he said: “It’s astonishing. I don’t know what to say. I honestly thought I could go out in the first week or two. I know nobody could go out in the first week but I still though I could.
“We’ve just lasted and lasted. She has got so much out of me and she deserves this so much. Everyday, she is positivity, she is belief and she is one of the easiest people to be funny with that I’ve ever met.
“Unless she changes her number, she’s stuck with me. This is for her and this is for everyone out there who got told they couldn’t do something or thought they couldn’t do something. With opportunity, support and determination, anything can happen.
Dianne agreed as she added: “Chris said this is for me, but this is not for me. This is for me and you Chris. This is for both of us. We did it.”
