There are many phrases used in Liverpool that we are yet to agree on the actual meaning of. The ongoing debates continue as there are simply no right or wrong answers. It all depends on what we have been told by our parents and grandparents growing up.
From the classic housecoat vs dressing gown debate and the ice lolly vs lolly ice debate there are many phrases that can spark heated discussions and more often than not, end in pathetic arguments. We all think the use of a word different to the one we use is ridiculous.
It isn’t just the accent and twang of our voice that Liverpool is famed for, our dialect is right up there as one of the many unique factors that make up our identity. And we want to know what you call the things Scousers have struggled to decide on a proper name for.
