The victim was taken to hospital with a head injury
A suspect has been named after a man was attacked during a burglary. Merseyside Police received a report at around 8.10pm on Friday, December 6 that a man had sustained a head injury and a puncture wound to his arm following a burglary at his home in Newton-le-Willows.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and following a search arrested another man. Leon Burgess, 22, of Clarence Street, Newton-le-Willows has been charged with aggravated burglary and a section 18 wounding with intent.
He has been remanded into police custody to appear at Wirral Magistrates’ Court today, Monday, December 9. Merseyside Police has set up a dedicated portal where people can send CCTV, smart doorbell or dashcam footage of suspicious activity in their area but don’t know if it is linked to a specific offence.
