Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has delivered a fresh verdict on the Premier League title race
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool should be more worried about Arsenal than Chelsea in this season’s Premier League title race. Arne Slot’s side remain top of the standings, despite the fact Saturday’s Merseyside derby against Everton was postponed due to the adverse weather conditions caused by Storm Darragh.
Manchester City drew 2-2 with Crystal Palace, while both Arsenal were also held to a 1-1 by Fulham. Liverpool have dropped points in just three of their 14 games so far to give themselves a healthy cushion at the top.
Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Fulham, Carragher admitted City are no longer the Reds’ biggest threat in the race, and the Gunners’ superiority in the goalkeeper department makes them the strongest competitor ahead of Chelsea.

“Arsenal [is who Liverpool should be more worried about],” he told Sky Sports. “I think Chelsea are more in it [the title race] than City.
“They’re out of the Carabao Cup so they don’t have to worry about a two-legged semi-final in January that Arsenal and Liverpool may have to worry about. My worry for Liverpool, I hope the manager isn’t obsessed with winning a domestic cup. I’m like ‘get out of them’ in some ways.
“But when I think of teams who win the league, I always think of a great goalkeeper. Chelsea haven’t got a great goalkeeper. When you think of what Arsenal did a couple of years ago, they were never going to win the league with Aaron Ramsdale.
“They brought [David] Raya in and he’s a better keeper and it gives them a greater chance. I just think Chelsea would miss out, but they’re definitely in the race.”
