Shoppers are being urged to return the product to store
Tesco has issued an urgent product recall for one of their festive products. The supermarket has urged customers not to eat chicken tsukune skewers due to an incorrect use by date printed on the packaging.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issues recalls for a variety of reasons, including when products contain allergens that are not disclosed on the packaging or if plastic is detected in the item.
When a product is recalled, for any reason, the FSA shares details on what you should do if you have bought the item, as well as detailed information on why the item has been pulled from sale.
The food alert has been posted by both the Food Standards Agency (FSF) and Tesco themselves. The product has been labelled with a use by date of 23/12/2024 instead of 10/12/2024 which makes them unsafe to eat after the 10 December 2024 date.
Tesco say an extension of the use by date could pose a ‘risk to health’ if it is kept past the correct shelf life. Shoppers have been urged by the supermarket ‘please do not eat it’ and instead return it to any Tesco store for a full refund. No receipt is needed.
