The actor has filmed his final scenes on the cobbles
Emrhys Cooper has spoken out about his time on the cobbles following his soap exit. The Rowan Cunliffe actor faced the consequences of his actions as leader of cult, ‘The Institute’ on Monday’s episode.
Rowan was standing trial over allegations of fraud and blackmail after his sinister activities as a leader of a cult. After a tense trial that saw Leanne lose her temper in court during a cross-examination from Rowan’s defence barrister, a guilty verdict was reached.
The villain drew Leanne into sinister cult The Institute earlier this year, which left her finances and relationships in tatters. After months of brainwashing, Leanne encouraged Amy Barlow to join and convinced her to invest her inheritance into a new resource centre.

Taking to Instagram yesterday, Emrhys spoke about his time on Coronation street as co-stars and fans supported him. He said: “And that’s a wrap on Rowan. About this time last year, I found out I got the part on @coronationstreet in the middle of the night! I was living in California at the time when I checked my phone and there it was… the big news. An incredible early Christmas present.”
The 39-year-old has been living in the USA for the past 15 years and revealed getting the part on the soap felt like a “sure sign from the universe” that it was written in the stars for him to return home. The actor continued: “Working on Corrie has been one of the most incredible professional experiences of my life. What a family, what a tradition, what a national treasure!”
