The ingredients will be found in every kitchen and will give you a ‘radiant, wrinkle-free glow’
In the quest for youthful, glowing skin, one beauty expert is offering a surprising solution that won’t stretch your budget. Her recipe for a homemade mask, which she calls “DIY Botox,” promises to deliver the coveted “glass skin” look for next to nothing.
With so many people spending small fortunes on serums, treatments, and cosmetic procedures, this simple recipe is a refreshing reminder that effective skincare doesn’t always require deep pockets. According to Vibha Gambhir, a beauty expert at Gambhir Cosmetic Medicine, achieving that radiant, wrinkle-free glow might just be a matter of raiding your kitchen cupboard.
“This three-ingredient face mask is my go-to for smooth, hydrated, and luminous skin,” she shared, adding, “It’s natural, easy to make, and delivers results you’ll swear rival Botox.”
Gambhir explained her straightforward method for creating the mask:
- Start with milk“Pour a glass of milk into a bowl – this forms the base and is packed with lactic acid to gently exfoliate your skin,” she advised.
- Add cornflour “Next, add four heaped tablespoons of cornflour. It’s cheap, widely available, and gives the mask its creamy texture. If you’re out of cornflour, rice flour works just as well.”
- Finish with olive oil“Mix in a teaspoon of olive oil for its hydrating properties. It’s especially good for locking in moisture during the colder months.”
- Application is key“Once mixed, apply the mask evenly to a clean face. Let it work its magic for about 20 minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water.”
The combination of simple ingredients offers a trifecta of benefits. Milk gently exfoliates and brightens the skin, cornflour smooths fine lines and improves elasticity, and olive oil deeply nourishes, leaving your face feeling plump and refreshed.
“It’s like giving your skin a big drink of hydration,” said the expert. This remedy is particularly suited for winter, when harsh weather and central heating leave skin dry and prone to irritation.
“A mask like this is brilliant for counteracting those effects. Plus, the glow it gives you is perfect for party season.”
The beauty expert didn’t stop at sharing her mask recipe. She also addressed the dreaded winter acne that many experience during the colder months.
“If your skin feels like it’s rebelling right now, you’re not alone,” she said. “Winter acne is real, and it’s often triggered by a lack of vitamin D, increased stress, richer diets, and festive indulgences like alcohol.”
Her solution? “Taking a daily dose of 10 micrograms of vitamin D can make a big difference,” she explained. “It’s affordable, available at most drugstores, and helps keep your skin balanced during those darker months.”
For those who prefer dietary changes, she suggested adding vitamin D-rich foods like oily fish, red meat, egg yolks, and fortified cereals to your meals.
