The 59-year-old received an unexpected diagnosis a few years ago
The Chase star Mark Labbett has received support from fans after sharing a health update on social media. The 59-year-old, best known as The Beast from the popular ITV show, was diagnosed with diabetes a few years ago, during a visit to the doctor.
The quizzer previously told Loose Women viewers he’d had a cut on his leg that wasn’t healing properly, prompting a nurse to ask if he was diabetic. While Mark didn’t think he was, a simple blood test showed otherwise. He said he had no other symptoms.
In a new Instagram post on Tuesday, Mark told fans he has now managed to lower his glucose levels. He said he has a glucose monitor, as he is “keeping an eye on my health and my type 2 diabetes now I’m getting on a little bit”, adding that it will “hopefully help me live as long and full a life as possible”.
