The TOWIE star was in disbelief as he progressed to the quarter final
Strictly Come Dancing’s Pete Wicks issued a statement as he apologised to fans after tonight’s controversial elimination. The former TOWIE star progressed to Musicals Week alongside his partner Jowita Pryzstal.
The reality TV star finished at the bottom of the leaderboard, but was saved by the public who decide the contestants that will compete in the dance. Jamie Borthwick was eventually elimintated after he competed in the final two against Montell Douglas.
Viewers following the show on social media platform X were gutted to see the EastEnders star go. Siobhan said: “Absolutely gutted Jamie went home. Shouldn’t have been in the bottom 2, let alone go!!”
Laura added: “Absolutely gutted Jamie went home. Shouldn’t have been in the bottom 2, let alone go!!” Pete was in shock that he survived the competition and was visibly emotional when he was questioned about the quarter final and Musical Week.

The reality TV star has taken to social media platform Instagram to admit he is aware he isn’t the strongest dancer in the competition but is grateful to the public as he vowed to continue doing his best. He said: Firstly THANK YOU, I never expected to be anywhere near a quarter-final of this show and the fact that I am is purely down to you at home!
“I’m not sure why you’re voting but I’m so thankful that you are. I have put everything I can in to this for the past 3 months, I’ve thrown myself at it and I feel very blessed to be continuing this rollercoaster with Jowita. I’m not a dancer, i’m not a performer, I’m just a bloke trying to get a little bit better each week. I wish I could thank every single one of you individually.
“Secondly, trust me I know I’m not as good as the rest and I’m sorry for that but I’m trying my best, we all are. I’m just trying to improve and learn as I go.
“No one is more surprised that I’m still here than me. We’re all giving it 100% and no one wants to see any one go home. Whatever happens, all 15 of us that started this series of Strictly took a step outside of our comfort zone to try and learn something new and to put on a show. That’s all we wanted to do
Celebrity fans and followers took to the comments to support Pete after the update. Faye Winter said: “You’re doing amazing!! Everyone is so proud of you!”
Coleen Nolan added: “So bloody thrilled for you” A follower named Suzanne commented: “Love seeing you and Jowita dance every week. You’re what Strictly is all about, learning and improving every week and falling in love with dancing. You have my vote every week! Keep it up”
