The list is compiled from diner reviews, bookings and insights
Online booking system OpenTable has unveiled the most in-demand restaurants of the year on its platform. The top 100 list is created by combining more than 900,000 diner reviews including ratings, five star percentages, number of alerts set and the number of reservations made in advance.
OpenTable’s top 100 is categorised by region and although Merseyside remains absent, there are a few restaurants only a short drive away. Michael Wan’s Mandarin in Blackpool represents Lancashire thanks to its traditional and authentic Cantonese dishes served up since 1961.
Manchester had five restaurants make the list including steakhouse Hawksmoor, which has a sister site in Liverpool, and The Ivy Asia. Rounding out Manchester’s highlighted venues is wine bar Erst, bistro Higher Ground, and Italian venue Onda Pasta Bar. You can see OpenTable’s top 100 list in full here.
