The retailer will be closed across the Christmas period
Wickes has revealed its stores will close for three days over the festive period. The home improvements store has made the announcement with only a matter of weeks to go until Christmas arrives.
In what will be a company-first, Wickes will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The store will reopen on Friday, December 27. Colleagues will be able to spend more time with friends and family to enjoy the festive period. As well as the store being closed, staff will also benefit from an additional day of paid leave on Christmas Eve.
The closures include Wickes’ customer service department. Stores across England, Wales and Scotland will close an hour early at 7pm between 16th – 21st December and 4pm on New Year’s Eve. Stores
David Wood, Chief Executive Officer at Wickes said: “Here at Wickes, our Christmas closures have become a way to thank all our colleagues for their tremendous services throughout the year, showing them that all of their hard work definitely doesn’t go unnoticed and is hugely appreciated.”
