Coronation Street’s Carla Connor is left devastated after a shock attack which leaves her hospitalised next week on the cobbles
Coronation Street: DS Swain puts her hand on Carla’s arm
Coronation Street is set for another rollercoaster week as the drama escalates for some of its characters.
Spoilers reveal that next week, DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) tells Carla Connor (Alison King) she’s not ready for a relationship. But when Carla returns to the factory, she’s shocked to find it’s been trashed by an unknown intruder.
As she reaches for her phone to ring the police, she’s hit on the head and collapses. After hearing about Carla’s sudden attack, Lisa stays with her in the hospital, hoping for a quick recovery.
Meanwhile, Matty Radcliffe (Seamus McGoff) is taken in for questioning, but Alya Nazir (Sair Khan), who has returned, gives a statement backing his alibi.

When Matty makes a smug remark about Becky’s death, Lisa gets angry, convinced he must have had a hand in the tragic event.
Later, Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) is thrilled to have Alya back and proud that she’s now shadowing a criminal solicitor. Logan Radcliffe (Harry Lowbridge) and Matty spot Lisa observing them from her car.
At the station, Alya shows Lisa and Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) a photo sent by her client who alleges they’re a victim of police harassment.
Attempting to hide her actions, Lisa claims she just ran into them, but Kit isn’t convinced she’s being entirely truthful. As the week unfolds, Adam Barlow (played by Sam Robertson) admits to Alya that he’s missed her and proposes they have dinner together.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Carla’s health is improving, and it’s finally time for her to return home in Friday’s episode. Roy Cropper (portrayed by David Neilson) and Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) arrive at the hospital to escort Carla back home.
However, Carla can’t conceal her disappointment, confessing she had hoped Lisa would accompany them. Recognising Carla’s desire for a deeper bond with the police detective, Roy urges Lisa to repair her relationship with Carla, observing that it’s clear they still harbour feelings for each other.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1.
