Luke Littler won the Grand Slam of Darts on Sunday with a convincing 16-3 win over Martin Lukeman in Wolverhampton, winning £150,000 in the process
Luke Littler’s opponent in the Grand Slam of Darts final has revealed the meal that the 17-year-old ate before winning his first-ever TV ranking title. Littler thrashed Martin Lukeman 16-3 in Wolverhampton on Sunday to secure his fourth major in what has been a remarkable debut year on the pro tour.
Runcorn-born Littler burst on to the scene at the World Championships at Alexandra Palace last December and has since emerged as one of the best players in the world. Littler, who won the Premier League earlier this year, has now added the Grand Slam to his growing list of accolades.
After beating Gary Anderson 16-15 in an epic semi-final, Littler destroyed Lukeman – who is ranked 37th in the world – 16-3, winning 15 legs in a row at one stage to rack up another major title. And defeated finalist Lukeman has since opened up on what fuelled Littler before his mammoth win.

“He had a curry, and a Boost [chocolate bar], then walks up there and just smashes me like that,” Lukeman told Sportsboom. “I’m like, what? 98% of the players down there just doing what they do, but he’s actually had a curry, a Boost, and them little sweets half pink, half white… squashies, yeah squashies.”
Littler has built quite the reputation for his pre-match diet but questions have been raised over what he does when there is breaks between sessions. And Lukeman has revealed that while he would head off stage for a cigarette and a drink of water to calm his nerves, Littler stayed calm, snacking on sweets.
“He even had them (squashies) at half time (an ad break), while I’m having a fag, and a water,” Lukeman joked.
Regardless of this, Lukeman, who had won 10 straight matches going into the final after having to go through qualifies to get to the Grand Slam, was full of praise for the teenage sensation.
“He’s absolutely awesome, and I wish him the best,” Lukeman said. “Him and his family, the best.”
