Jasmine Harman has been flooded with support after posting an emotional message about former A Place in the Sun co-star Jonnie Irwin. The TV host died in February aged 50 after a battle with cancer.
Jonnie made his terminal diagnosis public in November 2022, when he said his lung cancer had spread to his brain. At the time he said he hoped sharing his illness would encourage others to “make the most of every day”.
On what would have been Jonnie’s 51st birthday, Jasmine posted a selfie of the pair to Instagram. She said: “Happy Heavenly Birthday Jonnie. It doesn’t seem possible that it was a year ago already, when we spent that lovely day with our families, on the beach celebrating your 50th birthday. We miss you and will always remember the fun times. Love as always to Jonnie’s amazing family.”

Messages of support were left by pans with one saying “What a lovely photo, and precious memories.” Another added: “He was one of my most favourite presenters. The best really do die young. Happy Birthday Jonnie.”
Further messages of support included “Miss Jonnie on telly, what a true gent he was” and “Turned the TV on for ETTC one day and up popped Jonnie it was so lovely to watch the episode but so sad too. He always had a laugh with his guests and looked as though he put them at ease straightaway. Always had a mischievous glint in his eye.”
Jonnie is survived by his wife, Jessica Irwin, and their three children. Earlier today, the mum shared a series of images to her Instagram account celebrating Jonnie, the pictures showed holidays together and a selfie of the pair.
She said: “Happy birthday my favourite, we had only known each other a few months and we booked to go to Cuba for my birthday. Because that’s what you did. You booked trips, you showed me more of the world than I ever could have dreamed of.”
When Jonnie opened up about his cancer diagnosis in November 2022, he shared important advice as he encouraged people to take out life insurance, which helped set his family up for life after his death.
