Coronation Street fans were in for a treat as the queen of soaps Sharon Marshall sat down with some of the stars from Friday night’s explosive episode.
Coronation Street teases who killed Joel Deering in new promo
Coronation Street viewers finally learned who was responsible for Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) death on Friday night. Since the end of September, fans of the ITV soap have been left wondering who the murderer is.
A plethora of suspects were on the table, including Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown), Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myer). However, harrowing scenes revealed it was Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) who killed him.
Although Max Turner (Paddy Bever) confessed to the police that he was the murderer, it was revealed that he was covering for his friend. After the explosive episode, the queen of soaps, Sharon Marshall, sat down with some of the actors to relive the events that unfolded.
However, it seems as though many viewers were dealt a crushing blow as they faced technical issues and were unable to watch the stream on ITVX.

One person said: “Is anyone else having issues with the live streaming on itvx?”
Another commented: “Is anybody having trouble getting the live #corrie to work?”
Someone else wrote: “I really hope I can watch this live thing on catch-up because my itvx app isn’t f****ng working.”
“Is anybody having trouble getting the live #corrie to work?” asked another.
One disgruntled viewer added: “#Corrie is anyone watching the live show on itvx – I just get a blank screen.”
However, Coronation Street’s official Twitter shared a behind-the-scenes clip with some of the actors, informing people they’ll still be able to watch the stream.
They wrote: “Didn’t catch us live tonight from the Street?! Fear not! You can stream Coronation Street Live – A Killer On The Cobbles here.”
At the end of the explosive episode, viewers saw Lauren reading a letter from Max while he lay in his jail cell.
A voiceover could be heard from Max, admitting to Lauren he was going to lie about killing Joel, and she had to stick to their story in order to be around for her son.
However, ITV fans aren’t convinced that the whole truth has been uncovered, as they predict a twist is on the way.
Since Joel first made his way onto the cobbles, he’s been involved in some of the biggest plots of the year. When Lauren first went missing, all fans were left wondering who the person behind her disappearance was.
Although Roy Cropper (David Neilson) was arrested for her murder, fans learned it was Joel who had harmed her as Lauren was not dead but in hiding.
In the end, she was tracked down and returned to Weatherfield, pregnant with Joel’s baby, who he tried to get rid of by drugging Lauren, resulting in the baby spending time in the ICU.
Will Lauren face justice for killing Joel, if he’s even dead at all?
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
