The ITV soap aired horrifying news for Shona but as secrets start to unfold, fans think this will spell the end of her relationship
Coronation Street has confirmed devastating news for Shona Platt (played by Julia Goulding) about her son Clayton Hibbs (Callum Harrison), and now fans think it will spell the end of her relationship with David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd).
Last week, it became clear that Clayton had been trying to get in contact with his mum, though Shona had no idea as David had been intercepting the convict’s letters.
In a sly twist, David also deleted emails from the prison along with cutting off the phone line so Clayton couldn’t call. David then paid Clayton a visit after feeling like he wouldn’t give up with contacting Shona.

As Clayton revealed that he was truly sorry for murdering Kylie Platt and holding Shona hostage, David refused to forgive him and made a decision that would ensure that Clayton would stop contacting them.
He lied and said that Shona wanted nothing to do with her son and that he was dead to her, leaving Clayton heartbroken.
During Wednesday’s trip to Weatherfield (November 13), Shona received a visit from the police, who informed her that Clayton had tried to take his own life in prison.
They revealed that they had tried to contact her by phone, and when she discovered that it had been unplugged she was totally horrified.
At the hospital, Shona was in a panic, but David did little to comfort her, and now Corrie fans are convinced the popular couple will break up.
Taking to X, one person wrote: “You’re in trouble with Shona when she finds out what you said to Clayton, David, ya selfish blert #corrie.”
A second exclaimed: “David is in DEEP s*** when Shona finds out he stopped her from seeing Clayton #corrie.”
A third chimed in: “Oh s*** Clayton has tried to kill himself after David’s prison visit… if Shona finds out David told him his mother doesn’t love him anymore that will be the end of them relationship wise. #Corrie.”
“Clayton tried to kill himself – all thanks to what David did. Shona will hit the roof #Corrie #CoronationStree @itvcorrie”, added another.
