Firefighters released six people who were trapped in two vehicles following the serious crash this evening
A number of people were taken to hospital after they became trapped inside vehicles following a crash. Emergency services were called to the A56 Chester Road, in Daresbury, at around 6.15pm on Sunday (November 10) following a crash involving two vehicles.
Cheshire Police closed the A56 Chester Road in both directions from the B5356 Keckwick Lane, Daresbury, to Hobb Lane, Higher Walton, at the junction of Runcorn Road while emergency services dealt with the crash.
The Daresbury Expressway is also closed at the Chester Road junction following the incident. Motorists were being urged to avoid the area and find an alternative route. Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews have released six casualties that were trapped in two vehicles and they have been taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for Warrington Police shared an update on Facebook saying: “The A56 Chester Road in Walton is currently closed at the junction of Runcorn Road whilst police and emergency services respond to an ongoing incident.
“The Daresbury Expressway is also closed at the Chester Road junction at this time. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and find an alternative route – thank you for your cooperation this evening.”
