Liverpool have now won nine of their 11 Premier League games under Arne Slot and sit top of the standings
A number of Liverpool players have taken to social media after the 2-0 Premier League win over Aston Villa at Anfield on Saturday night. The Reds capitalised on Manchester City dropping points at Brighton and extended their lead to five points at the summit.
Darwin Nunez opened his account of the night in the 20th minute and Mohamed Salah sealed the result with six minutes from time. It was Arne Slot’s 15th win from the 17 games in charge to date.
“It was definitely a big week, but every game is a big week,” Slot said after Liverpool secured their third successive win at Anfield in the space of a week. “We play so many games in so many competitions against so many strong opponents.

“Hopefully we will have a lot of these weeks to come because these weeks are mostly big if you are competing for something, and that’s what we are doing at the moment.
“We are trying to compete for the league, trying to compete for the Champions League, and trying to compete in the cups we are in as well. We have to stay on the top of our game, which is never going to be easy, but we will push for it as much as we can.”
Taking to Instagram after the game, goalscorer Nunez shared a post from Salah on his stories without a caption.
Meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk shared some pictures from the game and wrote: “Blessed. See you all soon!” Ryan Gravenberch followed suit and added: “Finishing strong before the break. Catching up soon.”
Alexis Mac Allister posted: “Another win at home! Time to recover and get ready for international break.” Cody Gakpo said: “Trust in his plan. Let’s keep pushing with purpose.”
