The band is one-third of a stacked lineup performing later this month
Rock band IDLES are set to take over Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena. IDLES will be performing at Act 1.5 presents, a weekend of live music and events.
From November 28 to 30, the arena will host IDLES, the genre-bending group Massive Attack, and Chic legend Nile Rodgers. This series of shows is being staged to mark Liverpool as the world’s first ‘UN Accelerator City’ for climate action – an accolade to recognise the project and the city’s commitment to technical innovation and smart regulation to rapidly decarbonise the live music and TV/Film production sectors.
Act 1.5 presents… will test a range of measures that reduce the level of carbon emissions and air pollution that would usually be produced at an event of this scale. These include an entire event site powered by 100% renewable energy, a meat-free arena, and ending the show before 10pm to allow fans to travel home via public transport.

Since March, IDLES have toured the world with its fifth studio album, TANGK, released in February, fuelling the fire. Discussing the upcoming Liverpool show, the band said: “We’re excited to get involved with Act 1.5 and to put on a rock concert show.
“It’s a first step, and we’re just happy to be able to contribute anything for the cause. These shows are another contribution in pushing the boundaries and we were delighted to be asked to perform. See you all soon.” IDLES perform in Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena on Thursday, November 28. Tickets are still available to purchase via Ticketmaster here.
